Week van Gebed 2012
(13 December 2011)
Dit is 'n geseŽnde gebruik dat gemeentes elke jaar, en dan spesifiek iewers in die begin van die jaar, 'n reeks gebedsgeleenthede hou. Sommiges hou net enkele gebedsgeleenthede, ander sit 'n hele week se aande daarvoor opsy.

Week of Prayer 2012
The annual arrangement of prayer meetings, especially at the beginning of each year, is a blessed tradition in the DRC Family. Some congregations only have prayer meetings on one or two evenings, others set aside a whole week for this.

PASTORAL LETTER TO URCSA CONGREGATIONS ON THE DECISION OF THE DUTCH REFORMED CHURCH GENERAL SYNOD'S ACCEPTANCE OF THE BELHAR CONFESSION
(20 October)
On the 13th October we experienced firsthand that God indeed cares for his Church in South Africa when He led the General Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church to vote with a majority of more than 90% in favor for the acceptance of the Belhar Confession. That made us very hopeful.

This event was attended by the Moderator Prof Thias Kgatla and the Scribe Dr Dawid Kuyler as fraternal delegates to the meeting. Dr Johan Botha and Rev Colin Goeiman also were present at the occasion. Our colleague, Dr Egbert Rooze, from the United Protestant Church in Belgium also attended with us.
Before we come to what the exact decision is and the implications of the decision we would like to share with you the process that led to the decision as well as the context in which the decision was taken. We are convinced that by sharing this with you, you might have a better understanding of the decision itself.

From 25- 26 September 2011 we (The General Synod Celebration) will celebrate, together with those Churches abroad and in South Africa, who have accepted Belhar as a Confession, this Gift of God to us.

PASTORAL LETTER: MUNICIPAL/LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS
(14 May 2011)
Within a few days, we as a nation will once again go to the polls to vote for our representatives in Local Government. This is a very important democratic right and responsibility that we should not take lightly or without deep thought. We are aware of the disappointment and despair in our political leaders throughout our country, because on local and national government level delivery of services to you are in a shameful condition.
